Caretaker head coach Alan Sheehan admits it will be a proud moment to lead Swansea City at the Swansea.com Stadium this afternoon, and has urged his side to produce a showing that gives the fans something to shout about against Middlesbrough (3pm).

Sheehan has been in charge of the Swans for away games at Rotherham United and Stoke City, taking four points from the six on offer.

But Saturday’s clash with Boro sees him in charge of a home fixture for the first time.

However, the Irishman insists the focus must be on being prepared to improve Swansea’s home record and cause the Teessiders as many problems as possible.

“I am looking forward to being at home, it will be a proud moment,” he said.

“We would love to put in a performance to make the fans proud and to get the place rocking.

“That is what we want to do and that is what we need to do.

“We have not been good enough at home, there is no shying away from that, but it’s about trying to win the game in a positive way.

“They have had some tough games recently, they were very good in the first half against Hull, they carry a threat but we always focus on how we can hurt the opposition and that is what we will try to do.”
