Andy Fisher says it's an honour to commit a further two years at Swansea City as he puts pen to paper on a new contract until 2028.

The 28-year-old had been due to be out of contract at the end of the current season, but has committed his future to the Swans for two more years.

Fisher has made 54 appearances for the Swans since joining from MK Dons in January 2022, and his new deal would mean he'll reach six years, and the goalkeeper is over the moon to extend his stay in the city he now calls home.

"I’m over the moon. On a personal note, I love it here, my family love it here, my Mrs loves it," said Fisher.

"We’ve just had a little boy together and it’s a really nice place to raise a family. On the other side, I feel the club is in a really good position as it is now, the future is looking really good and to be offered another two years here is a real honour.

"One of my top moments is definitely the double-double, I don't think that'll get topped in my whole career. What it meant to the club and the fans, it was amazing."

Andy Fisher Cardiff 2023

The Blackburn Rovers Academy graduate has made five appearances this campaign including all four games as the club reached the last 16 of the Carabao Cup.

His start against Crawley in round one of the Carabao Cup was his first for the Swans in 18 months.

Amongst those games, Fisher was the penalty shoot-out hero against Plymouth Argyle and was also between the sticks for the victory against Nottingham Forest and the 3-1 loss to Manchester City at the Swansea.com Stadium.

And the shot stopper praised his support network around him at Fairwood for his development, citing the goalkeeper union and his coach, former England and current Wales National Team goalkeeping coach, Martyn Margetson as an integral part of his journey and development so far this season.

"I've massively developed under Marge, I can't speak highly enough of him. We've worked relentlessly together," he said.

"Everyday we train, he brings so much detail and intensity in to training and it's helped me massively. I feel like I'm at a point where I'm feeling my best again.

"They're two top lads in Lawrence Vigouroux and Paul Farman, we have a really good relationship together and with Marge it works really well.

"When Vigs [Lawrence Vigouroux] is playing, I'm his biggest fan and if there's anything I can do to help him out, I will do.

"We push each other to the max and it's credit to the group and Marge."

Andy Fisher St. Johnstone

Fisher spent the second-half 2024-25 campaign on loan to then Scottish Premiership outfit, St. Johnstone having had the first part of the season disrupted by injury. He racked up valuable playing time with 18 appearances in all competitions for the The Saints.

He was a major talking point in the club's victory over Scottish giants Celtic, where he earned himself a clean sheet and the Player of the Match reward.

"I was a stage where I hadn't played many games, and I had an injury in pre-season. I wanted to go out and express myself, and show everyone what I can do," added Fisher.

"That Celtic game was a real good moment for me, it's the biggest game you could have up there. Man of the Match and a clean sheet against Celtic is something I'll remember forever."
