Anthony Wright put's Monday's loss to Barnsley down to complacency but has urged the young Swans will learn from the performance after the Reds claimed victory in the 94th-minute.

The age-grade side suffered their first home league defeat since December, as a stoppage-time goal gave Barnsley a 3-2 victory at the Joma High Performance Centre.

Goals from Morgan Bates and Josh Pescatore gave the Swans an early two-goal cushion, but a Stanley Holder penalty late in the first half, followed by a second-half strike from substitute Max Rayner, looked to have ensured the teams would share the spoils.

However, a late goal from Lewis Gould ensured Barnsley took all three points back to Yorkshire.

Anthony Wright’s side produced a dominant first-half display, taking the lead inside seven minutes. However, Wright insists the young squad will take plenty of learning away from the performance.

"We're disappointed with the result, but it's a big learning curve. I praised this group of players for the resilience they showed against Hull, but this game was more down to complacency," said Wright.

"I thought we started the game well, in and out of possession, we showed a real high level. The only downside, is that we could have scored a lot more on the day.

"On the complacency side, I believe the players allowed themselves to drop because of how much joy they were having.

"After that, we weren't really creating chances, breaking the line against a team that was willing to sit off and be patient for opportunities.

"Albeit, I don't think Barnsley had many opportunities, but the two goals we gave away after the penalty were poor to give away.

"My overriding feeling is disappointed, but it'll be a massive learning curve for this young group."
