Coach Anthony Wright praised the quality of Swansea City Under-21s' goals after they ran out 3-0 winners against Bristol City in the Professional Development League.

Cameron Congreve - on his return from under-21s' duty with Wales - scored either side of the break, with two accomplished strikes from outside the box.

Kyrell Wilson, having set up Congreve's goals, then bagged one of his own with less than 15 minutes to go after he lifted the ball over the keeper following a neat ball in from the left.

“I’m pleased with the overall performance, I thought the boys started off the game so well, they were controlled both in and out of possession, and they played through their units and were threatening box-to-box," said Wright.

"It's the perfect way to bounce back after last week against Aston Villa, and they've thoroughly shown the improvements we wanted to see today.

"The boys showed so much strength to get on the ball. Their movement and their discipline to work certain areas, to play out under a high press.

"The boys are pleased, and they should be because we have a lot of respect for Bristol City. They did make it hard for us and they’re a very good side, and we knew that going into the game.

"I thought the quality of our goals was great, and we got that lead going into half-time. I thought Cameron Congreve did well to drop back in and score two goals.

"There was a lot of pace and quick forward-thinking on the pitch and ultimately that translated into goals. So overall, it's very pleasing to see."

And Wright hailed the hard work and resilience shown by Lincoln McFayden, after the defender returned to the pitch following a serious hamstring injury which saw him sidelined for nine months.

"Lincoln has done so well to get to where he is now. It was a bad injury and he had surgery a while back, then he was on crutches," added Wright.

"For him to get 30 minutes under his belt was great, and something he's been working so hard towards. So a big credit to the medical staff for getting him back."
