Anthony Wright proud of hard-fought performance
Coach Anthony Wright hailed a 'terrific' performance from Swansea City Under-21s as they fought back to claim a point in their penultimate Premier League Cup group stage fixture against West Brom on Friday evening.
Both goals came right at the end of the second half, with Akeel Higgins converting from the spot. Then substitute Henia-Kamau would equalise with 60 seconds left on the clock in stoppage time.
The Swans were down the 10 men with 30 minutes played after Sebastian Dabrowski was shown a straight red card.
And the point proves vital in the Swans' quest for qualification, with only Southampton left to play in January.
"I thought they were terrific, each and every one of them. We played the game in the right way, and we controlled the game," he said.
"We've questioned our character over the last couple of games, and they showed a lot of that. I'm extremely proud of the overall performance.
"On the ball, we dominated. We created so many openings, and credit to their keeper because he kept them in the game.
"After 25-30 minutes, we went down to 10 men. We still dominated the ball, creating chances and as a team, that's what we want against a category one side.
"We had to adjust tactically, and we did four times throughout the entire game. I thought the boys played out what we had asked brilliantly well.
"It didn't look like it was 10 against 11 on the pitch. We could have folded after they were rewarded their penalty, but they went again.
"And they went and got the goal, which was what they deserved."
