Swansea City head to Stoke City on Wednesday in the Sky Bet Championship, so we’ve put together this handy guide for supporters who are making the trip to back the Swans.

Stoke City vs Swansea City

Date: Wednesday, August 31 (7.45pm)

Address: bet365 Stadium, Stanley Matthews Way, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 4EG.

Distance from the Swansea.com Stadium: 185 mi

SEAT ALLOCATION

The bet365 Stadium is at its best at night. Perched on a hill with very few buildings located nearby and lit up, the venue – built in 1997 – makes an impressive sight.

Just under 3,000 away fans can be housed in The Caldwell Construction. Open corners allows the wind to swirl through the stands and so it can be cold.

Tickets are still on sale for this fixture.

TRAVELLING BY TRAIN

Stoke-on-Trent Railway Station is situated on the West Coast Main Line and provides direct access from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Derby and Crewe. The station offers a bar, Bureau de Change, ATM machine and two coffee shops, along with toilet and Wi-Fi facilities.

Stoke City have advised that away supporters are often met by the police at the railway station and taken to Staffordshire University or a pub near to it for refreshments. They are then shuttle bussed up to the bet365 Stadium. After the game, there are buses that return away fans to the railway station.

Supporters can take a two-minute walk from the station to Glebe Street in Stoke town centre, where shuttle buses run to the bet365 Stadium at regular intervals.

BY BUS

Supporters should look out for the number 20 bus service which runs from Stand N at the Stoke-on-Trent City Centre Bus Station in Hanley to the bet365 Stadium.

This also stops at the Railway Station and town centre.

Supporters are encouraged to check local bus timetables and plan their journey in advance.

SUPPORTER COACH

Return coach travel for this fixture is available to purchase online, through the Swansea City ticketing site and will depart from the Swansea.com Stadium at 1:30pm and is priced at £35.00.

At the bet365 Stadium, coaches are directed to, park, and drop off away supporters at the back of The Caldwell Construction Stand near to the turnstiles. They remain in situ there until departure after the final whistle.

Please note that under the traffic commissioners’ guidelines for football coach travel, the consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited. Should any supporter be found in possession of or to be consuming alcohol during the trip, the driver has the legal right to return to the Swansea.com Stadium without those persons responsible, or for any other form of anti-social behaviour.

In addition, further sanctions will be taken against anyone found in breach of this rule.

PARKING

The bet365 Stadium is a five-minute drive away from Junction 15 of the M6 for those travelling from the north or south. The ground is well signposted.

Pre-paid match-by-match passes for the club’s South Car Park can be brought directly from Ticket Office, either in person or by calling 01782 367 599.

If you’re unable to park at the stadium, a number of surrounding businesses also offer officially recognised pay-on-the-day parking. These are: Powerleague 5-a-side football centre, Hem Heath Cricket Club, Longton Rugby Club, BFM Europe and Screwfix.

NEARBY PUBS

There are very few places in close proximity to the ground and the town centre is a 40 minute walk from the stadium.

There is a Holiday Inn and a Harvester that allow away fans. A bit further away on Dennis Viollet Avenue is a Power League complex that also has a bar, which permits away supporters. Longton Rugby Club, which has two bars, is also an option and is around 20 minutes from the stadium.
