Captain Ben Cabango believes the festive period has been a positive spell for Swansea City, and feels there is plenty to build on.

The Swans rounded off a hectic couple of weeks with a 2-1 defeat at Millwall on Sunday; with Cabango on the scoresheet but a last-gasp winner from Caleb Taylor denying the visitors a share of the spoils at The Den.

There was also a slender defeat at leaders Coventry in the run of five games, plus victories over Wrexham, Oxford and West Brom.

And while there was disappointment that Vitor Matos' side did not travel back from south-east London with a point, Wales international Cabango feels it is clear to see Swansea are heading in the right direction.

"I think it has been a positive period for us. I think everyone can see the improvements we have made," he said.

"It has been a really hectic schedule with so many games back to back, and it's hard mentally and physically for everyone and I think that did show in parts of the game at Millwall.

"But when you reflect on it as a whole there have been a lot of positives to take.

"I think you are seeing more and more the things we are working on and how the gaffer wants us to be as a team.

"We have taken three wins from five, and we are frustrated we did not take something from the two we did lose.

"So there is plenty to build on moving forward."

The skipper also heaped praise on Lawrence Vigouroux after the goalkeeper produced a magnificent individual display against Millwall.

The Chile international made several outstanding stops to help the Swans get within touching distance of a point.

"That's probably the best performance I have seen from a keeper while I have been playing," added Cabango.

"When you have someone like him behind you, you always feel comfortable.

"He has been unbelievable and it's just a shame we couldn't make sure he got a point.

"The amount of saves he made was incredible, it's just incredibly frustrating that we could not come away with something to reward him."
