Ben Cabango sets sights on more Swansea City goals

Ben Cabango has set his sights on chipping in with more goals after he helped Swansea City seal a 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers at the Liberty Stadium.

It proved a perfect week for Steve Cooper’s side, who had already seen off Stoke City 2-0 earlier in the week in SA1.

This latest victory came thanks to Cabango’s first-half header from Connor Roberts’ corner, while Andre Ayew nodded home Yan Dhanda’s cross on the hour.

For Cabango, on top of a fifth clean sheet of the season, it was the 20-year-old’s second strike of the season.

And the centre-back, who made his Wales senior debut earlier in the season, wants to build on that aspect of his game.

"You can't ask for more than that - three points, a clean sheet and a goal,” said Cabango.

“That's my second goal of the season and hopefully I can get a few more. That's something I wanted to improve on from last season - only scoring the one goal, so that's a big positive for me.

"All the balls Connor’s been putting in are really good. Obviously, you want to attack them whenever you can. Whether it's him, Matt Grimes or Yan, they always put good balls in. We've just got to capitalise on them.”

The Swans have risen to second following the week’s results, with trips to Brentford and fourth-placed Norwich City next on the fixture list.

And Cabango insists the Swans will be raring to go for a testing away double-header.

"We're on a good run now and just want to keep pushing forward and improving,” added the defender.

“This wasn't the best game, but we've grinded out the clean sheet and got the three points. We want to build on that in our next game and hopefully get the three points again.

“We've got two tough games coming up in Brentford and Norwich, so we've just got to keep moving forward and improving.”
