Ben Cabango thanks travelling Jacks for backing over long season
Captain Ben Cabango thanked the travelling Jacks who have backed his side all over the country after Swansea City rounded off their away itinerary for 2025-26 with a 1-1 draw at Norwich City.
Swansea's longest away day of the campaign was saved for the 23rd and last, with more than 500 fans making the long journey to East Anglia to cheer on Vitor Matos' team.
They saw Zan Vipotnik's penalty give the Swans the lead early in the second half, before a Kenny McLean spot-kick brought the Canaries level late on.
The trip to Carrow Road took the total mileage covered by Swans fans for away game to nearly 9,300 miles - up there with the furthest in the Championship - and Cabango was in awe of the efforts and sacrifices so many go to.
"The first thing I want to say is thank you to the fans," said the skipper.
"They were absolutely unbelievable, and they have been all season.
"We know how far this is, it took us seven hours on the coach on Friday, so for them to come up here in their numbers like that is just an incredible effort.
"We want them to know that we all appreciate that so much, because the amount of miles they have to put in over the course of a season is incredible.
"Everyone here wants to do their very best to try and bring success for them, we know this has been an up and down season, but we are really working to try and make sure they have reason to be proud of this team and have plenty to cheer,"
The draw at Norwich means Swansea have ended the season unbeaten in their last four away games, winning two and drawing two.
And the Wales international feels that is a plus to take forward with a good finish to the season leaving Swansea on course for a top-half finish.
"We were disappointed not to get the win, but I think we can take a lot from the performance because they are a good team and have been one of the form teams in the league.
"We are frustrated, because I really did not think that was a penalty so close to the end of the game.
"But over this run of away games I think you can see there is a growing resilience in the team.
"You trace it back to Sheffield United where we were 3-1 down, the fans gave us a big lift and we found our way back into that game and got a result.
"It's been good that we have been able to carry that on over this final part of the season, now it's about trying to take it into next season."
