Conor Hourihane insists Swansea City are geared up for another Championship challenge when Steve Cooper’s side head to Rotherham United on Saturday (3pm).

The Swans are flying high in the Championship and rose back up to second in the table following the midweek draw with Brentford at the Liberty – a result that takes their unbeaten run to eight games in all competitions.

Rotherham remain in the relegation zone, sitting two points from safety, but have two games in hand over Wayne Rooney’s Derby County.

But the Millers will be buoyed by their stunning 3-0 midweek win at Middlesbrough, and Hourihane is expecting a tough afternoon in Yorkshire.

“They had a great result in midweek,” said the Irish international, who scored his first Swans goal in midweek following his arrival on loan from Aston Villa.

“If we can go there and pick three points up - it won't be easy because every game's tough - it will cement how big a point the draw with Brentford was for us.

“We have to back it up with a good display and a better performance on the ball on Saturday, and hopefully kick on to keep our unbeaten run going.

“If we can get three points at the weekend - with no midweek game it means we can rest up a little bit - that would be huge for us.”
