Steve Cooper says it is too early to determine the extent of Conor Hourihane’s hamstring injury after the Republic of Ireland international was forced off early on against Cardiff.

Hourihane, on loan from Aston Villa, had to come off after 18 minutes, having appeared to pick up the problem in a challenge with Leandro Bacuna.

Swansea head coach Cooper says it is unlikely the midfielder will be able to go away on international duty, but says it was too early to say if he would be available for the Easter fixtures against Birmingham and Preston.

“I am not sure of the extent of his hamstring injury,” said Cooper.

“He has come off, but I am not sure how bad it is, that we will find out over the next few days.

“It seems he might not go away, but I don’t want to rule him in or out at the moment."
