Wilfried Bony struck a dramatic late goal to hand Swansea City a crucial victory at Newcastle United on this day in 2014.

The Swans were scrapping to avoid relegation from the Premier League as they headed into the final four games of the season.

And they looked to be in trouble when Shola Ameobi put mid-table Newcastle ahead against the run of play in the first half.

But with interim head coach Garry Monk in charge, the Swans showed their desire and determination to get out of trouble.

They levelled shortly before half-time when Bony headed home from a Ben Davies corner.

It seemed the Swans would be forced to settle for a draw as the clock ticked down in the second half.

But when Marvin Emnes broke clear, he was felled by Cheick Tiote and Bony converted from the penalty spot to secure a crucial win for his team.
