On this day: Dobbie's delight

Stephen Dobbie struck late on to give Swansea City a crucial victory on this day in 2011.

Dobbie had begun on the bench at the Ricoh Arena, but was sent on alongside Luke Moore for the final 18 minutes as the Swans looked to find a way through the home defence.

And just four minutes after entering the fray, the Scottish forward hooked the ball into the net as Coventry keeper Keiren Westwood was caught off his line.

Earlier, the Sky Blues had put pressure on the Swans, but Aidy Boothroyd’s team could not find a way past the impressive Dorus de Vries.

Brendan Rodgers’s substitutes then made a big impact, with Dobbie, Moore and Scott Sinclair all hitting the woodwork in the same attack shortly before the deadlock was broken.

The victory meant the Swans climbed back into the Championship’s automatic promotion places, yet they ended the season in the play-offs.

But as every Swans fan knows, they went rather well.
