Danny Graham joined Swansea City in a club-record deal on this day in 2011.

Brendan Rodgers made the Watford striker one of his key targets having steered the Swans to promotion from the Championship.

And it did not take long to get a deal done.

The Swans only booked their place in the top flight courtesy of victory over Reading at Wembley on May 30.

Less than three weeks later, Graham put pen to paper at the Liberty after the Swans paid a record-breaking £3.5 million to secure his services.

The club’s previous record signing had been Scott Sinclair, who arrived the previous summer from Chelsea.

Graham proved a shrewd acquisition, as he finished top scorer in the Swans’ maiden Premier League campaign.

He scored a total of 21 goals in 62 appearances before joining Sunderland in a £5 million deal in January 2013.
