ON THIS DAY: A memorable away win

17th November

Newcastle 1 Swans 2
Premier League: Saturday, November 16, 2012

The Swans claimed their first victory in 32 years over Newcastle as they took home all three points at St James' Park despite the hosts' late comeback.
Michu put Michael Laudrup's side ahead in the North East after 58 minutes before Jonathan de Guzman doubled the lead in the 87th minute.
Demba Ba nodded home in added on time, but the Swans held on for a thoroughly deserved victory in the North East.
It would be among five away wins in the league that season, which would be a campaign to cherish for Swans fans.
The club's centenary season would see the Swans lift the League Cup - thus qualifying for the Europa League - and a ninth-placed finish in the top flight.
