Jonjo Shelvey scored a spectacular late goal to give Swansea City victory at Southampton on this day in 2015.

Garry Monk's Swans were licking their wounds after a 5-0 home thrashing by Chelsea and an FA Cup defeat at Blackburn Rovers.

They were also without a number of frontline players through injury and suspension as they took on a Saints side who were enjoying a good season.

But Monk's men bounced back to form at the manager's old club as Shelvey fired home from long range in the 83rd minute.

Southampton defender Ryan Bertrand was then dismissed as the Swans held on to win.

The victory helped them to a record Premier League points haul of 56 and an eighth-placed finish in 2014-15.
