Garry Monk enjoyed a memorable debut as Swansea City's as interim head coach as Cardiff City were hammered at the Liberty on this day in 2014.

The Welsh rivals were both struggling in the Premier League, and Cardiff were looking for a second derby win of the season having beaten the Swans at home the previous November.

But with Monk at the helm following Michael Laudrup's Liberty exit, the Swans chalked up a thrilling win.

Cardiff old boy Wayne Routledge opened the scoring two minutes into the second half before Nathan Dyer doubled the lead on 79 minutes.

Wilfried Bony then headed home to seal an emphatic victory which would set the Swans on the path to Premier League survival.
