Lee Trundle scored two late goals as Swansea City beat Doncaster Rovers on this day in 2006.

The striker netted twice in the final seven minutes to give the Swans their first victory of the season.

Following play-off final heartbreak of the previous campaign, Kenny Jackett’s side had struggled the get going in 2006-07, losing two of their opening three games.

The Swans had conceded five times already but were bolstered by the signing of Trinidadian World Cup defender Dennis Lawrence, who made his debut against Doncaster.

It looked set to be another day of disappointment for the Swans, with the deadlock still to be broken heading into the 83rd minute.

However, Trundle came up trumps when it mattered the most as he slotted home the opener after brushing off two defenders.

He put the match to bed in the dying seconds, cleverly beating the offside trap before sliding the ball past Alan Blayney.
