Ethan Galbraith | It was important for us to get that win away from home
Goalscorer Ethan Galbraith hopes Tuesday evening's win at Portsmouth can spark a positive run of form away from home following the Swansea City's 2-1 victory at Fratton Park.
Vitor Matos’ side had much the better of the first hour on the south coast, keeping the home side at arm’s length and looking a threat with the ball.
They got their rewards when Galbraith dispatched a drive into the far corner at the end of a move that had started with a fantastic raking pass from Lawrence Vigouroux.
The Northern Ireland international netted his fourth goal this season in all competitions, and in similar fashion to his strike at the Hawthorns in November 2025.
And the result comes in the first of two away tests for the Swans as they travel to north Wales on Friday to take on Wrexham.
"It was a very good win, we needed that away from home because our home form has been good. We spoke about it before the game, but to come here and see it out is unreal," said Galbraith.
"The goal was something we've been working on with the gaffer, me and Tymo [Josh Tymon] sort of rotate sometimes. Vigs' [Lawrence Vigouroux] was outrageous, but for it to come off and finally get a goal was great.
"Our home form has been good, and this game will give us confidence going away elsewhere.
"We'll have to be on it on Friday against Wrexham, we showed that we can do that at the home fixture and we want to be able to do it again."
