Fulton signs new Swans deal
10th July 2016
Jay Fulton is pledging to repay the faith shown in him by Swansea City after putting pen to paper a new four-year contract.
Fulton had another two seasons to run on his previous deal, but the Swans were keen to tie down the midfielder and he is now under contract until the summer of 2020.
The former Falkirk youngster, who is currently on pre-season tour with the Swans in America, has shown plenty of promise since arriving in Wales back in January 2014.
And having featured twice at the back end of last season - in the victories over Arsenal and Liverpool - the 22-year-old is hoping for further chances to impress in 2016-17.
"It's great to get the contract done," said Fulton, who joins fellow Scot Adam King in signing fresh terms at the Swans this week.
"It's a big show of faith in me from the club. I have four years to look forward to now and hopefully, if I can get the game-time, I can repay the faith the club have shown in me.
"It was an easy decision for me to sign. I have enjoyed my time at Swansea so far and hopefully I can on to better things here in the future."
Fulton has made a total of nine Swans appearances since moving to the Premier League despite facing a battle for opportunities in midfield.
He had a spell on loan at Oldham Athletic last season, but has fingers crossed that Francesco Guidolin will turn to him in the upcoming campaign.
"I have to get a good pre-season under my belt and try to put my foot in the door a bit as far as getting into the team goes," he said. "Then I have to take it as it comes."
