Grimes relishes reunion

Matt Grimes is looking forward to catching up with a few familiar faces when Swansea City welcome Blackburn Rovers to the Liberty tonight (7.45pm).

The midfielder spent the second half of the 2015-16 season on loan at Ewood Park, making 13 appearances in all competitions as Blackburn finished 15th in the Championship.

Although his stint at Rovers was short, Grimes admits his link to the Lancashire club will add extra spice to the contest on a personal note.

“I was only there for three months, but I really enjoyed my time there,” he tells tonight’s Jack Magazine.

“I know a few of the lads and it will be good to see some of them tonight.

“I was there for such a short time that it won’t quite feel like facing a former side, but there will still be a little bit of edge to the game for me.”

You can read the full interview with Matt Grimes in tonight’s Jack Magazine.

He also talks about his ultimate frisbee days, working under Gareth Southgate for England at youth level and how he has fallen back in love with football.

We also hear from manager Graham Potter and skipper Leroy Fer, while Bersant Celina answers questions from the Jack Army.

Jay Fulton picks out the five best players he has shared a pitch with in our dream team feature, and Erwin Mulder revisits memorable firsts in life – both on and off the pitch.

Two of our stars of the future, Joe Lewis and Owen Evans, sit down with us, as does former Swan John Hills.

We also hear from chairman Huw Jenkins and there is plenty more in tomorrow’s Jack Magazine including all the latest from the academy, ladies’ team and community, plus everything you need to know about Tony Mowbray’s Blackburn.

Our seventh Jack Magazine of the 2018-19 Championship season is available for just £3 from around the Liberty and the club shop.

Jack Magazine really is a must-have for any Swans fan, so don’t miss out!
