Gwen Horgan was thrilled to open her goalscoring account for Swansea City Ladies in their win over The New Saints.

It has been a week to remember for Horgan, who made her debut and opened her goalscoring account for the Swans in the space of a week.

The youngster came on in the 73rd minute of Sunday’s victory over TNS and made an impact to score Swansea’s fifth goal of the match.

And she is hoping that scoring her first goal will only lead to more confidence.

“I’m delighted. I have been working hard in training and it is just paying off now,” Horgan said.

“I came off the bench last week to make my debut and to get an assist was great, but to get more time on the pitch and score a goal was even better.

“It is great (to make an impact in the first team). I’m still young so I have still got alot to give.

“I’m enjoying training and hopefully my confidence will keep building and I will get more time in the near future.

“I have been at the club for five years now and to get on the pitch with the likes of (Alicia) Powe and Tija (Richardson) is unbelievable.

“I’m really hoping to get more goals and assists to help the team the best I can.”
