Swansea City have been boosted by news that Mike van der Hoorn will be fit for Monday’s clash with Liverpool.

The defender was forced off at Newcastle last weekend amid fears he had suffered a hamstring injury.

But scans have indicated that no damage was done and van der Hoorn has already returned to full training.

Renato Sanches is set to join him on the training field tomorrow and could therefore play some part in the Liverpool clash having missed the Swans’ last two matches with a hamstring complaint.

And boss Carlos Carvalhal is also keeping his fingers crossed that Tammy Abraham (hip) will be fit to play some part.

Club skipper Angel Rangel, meantime, is closing in on a comeback having suffered a calf injury earlier this month.
