Steve Cooper praised the performance of Jamal Lowe after the forward produced a fantastic finish in Swansea City’s 1-1 draw with Bristol City.

Lowe, who joined the Swans from Wigan in August, looked lively throughout at Ashton Gate, and got his reward when he opened the scoring five minutes into the second half.

Showing clever movement, the forward latched on to Connor Roberts’ pass and quickly swivelled to take a touch and smash the ball across goalkeeper Daniel Bentley and into the top corner.

It was Lowe’s second goal for the Swans as he adapts to a more central role, and Cooper has every confidence the club’s new acquisition is growing with every game.

“I thought Jamal looked a real threat, in the first half especially he made it difficult for their back line,” said Cooper.

“I am really pleased for him. He works really hard at his game.

“We are playing him more central than he has ever played because that is where we see his development being.

“We do a lot of work on his finishing and he is hungry to learn. He always wants to do more, if anything you have to stop him doing too much.

“It was a great finish on his left foot, and it was no more than he deserved to be honest. I am really pleased with that.

“It was a brilliant finish, he has that in his locker, and we want to unlock a bit more of that as he is going to be a good player for us, now and in the future.”
