Jisung Eom | I was pleased to make an important contribution, but it was a team effort
Jisung Eom was delighted to have made a match-winning contribution to Swansea City's victory at Leicester City, but was keen to stress the team effort that secured the three points.
Eom created Zan Vipotnik's winner at the King Power Stadium with a brilliant solo run early in the second half.
The South Korea international was alert to Leicester taking a free-kick short on the left side of the Swansea area, and picked off the pass to set off upfield.
Having got his side up the pitch, he comtinued to hold off blue shirts as he entered the Leicester half, and with white shirts breaking forward in support he cut infield towards the middle of the pitch before slipping a pass into the path of Vipotnik, who took it in stride and drove into the area before lashing the ball high into the net.
With the Swans securing a 12th clean sheet of the season, it proved the difference and ensured the visitors won an away fixture against the Foxes for the first time since October 1950.
"I knew once I made the initial interception, that I was the only person for us in that area, so I decided to dribble and run with the ball to get us up the pitch," said Eom of the goal.
"Once I got into their half I could see I had players in support, and I was able to find Vipi, who did a great finish.
"I know that I can help the team, it feels really good to help the team in this way, and I want to keep doing so for the rest of the season.
"There were tough moments in the game, and you have to expect to have those moments in the Championship.
"We mangaged to overcome those moments as a team, everyone worked hard for each other, and I hope we can push from here and finish the season really strongly."
