Adrian Tucker feels new signing Joel Asoro can flourish at Swansea City.

Tucker saw the young Swede up close during their time together at Sunderland last season, with the 19-year-old forcing his way into the first-team fold at the Stadium of Light.

Asoro reunited with Tucker on Saturday - signing a four-year deal - after the Swans agreed an undisclosed fee with the Black Cats.

The winger will hope to be a big part of manager Graham Potter’s plans as the Swans boss assesses his squad during the pre-season period.

And Tucker is confident the club’s latest arrival can fulfill his potential at the Liberty.

“He is a young talent,” the Swans goalkeeper coach said. “He was thought of quite highly up in Sunderland.

“He is a player who has bags of pace and I am sure he will be an asset to Swansea.

“He is still only 19, so there is still a lot of hard work ahead of him.

“I am sure when he gets to work with the manager and coaching staff here that we can provide him with the next level opportunity.

“He was a regular player at the Swedish youth age groups so he has definitely been on Graham’s radar.

“He can do a job down the middle, but he is more at home on the wings. He has bags of pace to go past people and is then looking for that final ball to create opportunities for others.

“Given the opportunity to create something in wide areas, he will do it.

“He trains well, works hard and is a tough cookie so I think he will fit in well here.”
