Josh Key | We have another exciting challenge to look forward to
Josh Key insists Swansea City will make the trip to Wrexham excited by the challenge ahead at the end of a gruelling week.
The Swans make the journey to the Racecourse for a third game in just six days, with two of those being the midweek trip to Portsmouth and the trek to north Wales on Friday.
Swansea won the reverse fixture against the Dragons back in December, securing a dramatic 2-1 victory courtesy of Adam Idah’s last-gasp effort.
The visitors can move to within two points of their hosts with a win, and travel buoyed by victory at Fratton Park on Tuesday night, and Key is looking forward to the all-Welsh clash.
“Wrexham at home was a great game, and everyone wants to be a part of occasions and moments like that,” he said.
“It’s tough when you have two long away trips in the same week, three games in six days.
“So we have to recover, we know the anticipation and adrenaline will take over, it’s just about making sure we get ourselves ready and in the best possible condition.”
Key was on the scoresheet against Pompey, firing a looping shot into the far corner of the net to double Swansea’s lead on the back of Ethan Galbraith’s fine strike, before Jacob Brown pulled a goal back for the hosts.
“I thought in the first half we played well, and we were really able to pen them in,” he said.
“The second half was a typical Fratton Park, we just had to defend the box and deal with a really tough half.
“I think it showed we need all of the team to be able to win these games and if you want to push on to do something.”
