Josh Tymon believes he is hitting his stride at Swansea City under head coach Luke Williams.

The left back impressed in Williams’ first league match in charge against Birmingham City, producing two assists in the 2-2 draw, and was voted the fans’ player of the match in the Swans’ victory over Hull City last weekend.

And the former Stoke man – who recently welcomed a daughter with his partner Courtney - says he feels really settled in south Wales, and has a lot of optimism about where the team can go under the guidance of the former Notts County boss.

“I think fans looking from the outside will have said that it took me a bit of time to adapt when I first arrived which is fair,” admitted Tymon.

“When I first got here, I wasn’t performing to the level I think I can, but that takes time.

“I was at Stoke a long time and moving here was completely new. I wanted a new challenge – not just club wise, but in terms of where I was living.

“Me and my partner had a little girl about three weeks ago. It’s been nice going home from training every day. It gives you a different perspective on life, if you like.

“But I don’t think there’s a more perfect place to bring a child into your life than here. We’re really happy, and settled and we’ve found a home. It’s been all good.

“I think in the past few weeks, I’ve been getting a consistent run of games and it’s helped me and the performances are only going to get better.

“I’ve loved every minute under the new manager to be honest. The passion and detail that goes into his work is something I’ve never seen before and something that I’ve never played under."

Tymon acknowledges that the Swans have had a tough run of games, playing a number of promotion contenders in recent weeks, and they face another high-flying challenger in Ipswich on Saturday.

But the Hull product says the focus has to be on continuing to improve and build every day, personally and for the wider group.

“For me personally, I want to keep improving. I feel like I’m improving every day under this manager and with this group of players," he added.

“For the last part of the season, the aim is just to get as many points as we can.

"Ipswich are a good side. It’s going to be a tough game. Our last few results at home haven’t been as good as we would want. It’s another tough test, every game is going to be difficult but we have to be ready to go and perform and to improve."
