Swansea City is delighted to announce goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux has committed his future to the club by putting pen to paper on a new contract.

The 31-year-old, whose previous deal – which did include an option to extend by 12 months – had been due to expire at the end of the current campaign, has signed terms that will extend his stay in SA1 through to the end of June 2028.

The Chile international has been outstanding for the Swans since joining from Burnley in the summer of 2024.

He kept 14 clean sheets during his first campaign between the sticks, and has already added two more to that tally this term.

Head coach Alan Sheehan said: “Lawrence has been excellent for us since joining the club and we are delighted he has extended his stay at Swansea City.

“He is a massive part of what we want to do as a group, and we are very happy to know he is going to be with us during the coming years."

Head of goalkeeping Martyn Margetson said: “Lawrence has been outstanding for us on and off the field, and he absolutely deserves this new contract.

“He is a dedicated player, always keen to work on the fine details of his craft, and combines that with an infectious enthusiasm and positive attitude. He has thrived at Championship level and I am really pleased to continue working with him.”

Vigouroux started his career on the books at Brentford and Tottenham, and went on to join Liverpool after a successful trial with the Anfield club.

He went on to have stints with Swindon Town, Everton de Vina del Mar, Leyton Orient and Burnley before making the move to join the Swans.

Vigouroux recently made his senior international debut for Chile, facing Brazil at the Maracana and keeping a clean sheet against Uruguay.
