Leroy Fer is set to miss Swansea City’s next two matches with a groin injury.

The Swans skipper picked up the problem during the win at Millwall 12 days ago.

And though he is making good progress, Fer will be absent when Graham Potter’s men host Nottingham Forest on Saturday and go to Stoke next Tuesday night.

The hope is that the midfielder will be back in contention at Middlesbrough in nine days’ time.

“Leroy is making really good progress but the Forest game will be too soon for him,” Potter said.

“That’s disappointing of course, but he is working well and we are looking towards the Middlesbrough game for him.”

There is good news for the Swans regarding Martin Olsson (calf), Oli Joe Rodon (ankle) and Oli McBurnie, who were all in training today as Potter’s squad stepped up preparations for the Forest clash.

Jay Fulton is also back in contention after breaking a bone in his hand.
