Lewis relishing Arsenal challenge

8th December

Joe Lewis admits Swansea City Under-18s must rise to the challenge when they face Arsenal in Premier League South at Fairwood on Saturday (11am).

The 18-year-old has been a key figure in the under-18s' defence this season and wants to help them end 2017 on a high.

The academy Swans lie sixth in the table but go into this weekend’s game following back-to-back league defeats against Tottenham and Leicester.

“We have made a great start to our league campaign,” he said. “Recent defeats have hit our good start but we are feeling refreshed and ready to go again.

“We want to make sure we end the year on a high.

“Arsenal have one of the best academy sides in the country but we know we have what it takes to beat them. But we need to show that on the pitch.

“If we want to keep progressing and finish in the top half of the table these are the teams we must get results against.”
