Jay Fulton enjoyed a night which live long in the memory with Wigan Athletic as the League One side pulled off one of the great FA Cup upsets against Manchester City.
The Latics had been given almost no chance of toppling Pep Guardiola’s star-studded City side in round five of the competition.
But the third-tier hosts produced a fabulous performance to get the better of 10-man City, with Will Grigg scoring the only goal late on.
And though he had played only seven minutes in a Wigan shirt before last night, Fulton was one of their star performers.
The Scot began the game on the bench, but was sent on after only 27 minutes after Nick Powell suffered an injury and won praise for his strong display in central midfield.
