Luke Williams | Our mindset has to change
Luke Williams says Swansea City’s mentality and mindset has to improve after a flurry of late goals saw them suffer a heavy 5-1 defeat against Norwich City at Carrow Road.
The contest had been level in the 62nd minute, when Liam Cullen headed home his 10th goal of the season from Josh Key’s cross.
That had cancelled out Josh Sargent’s opener just before the interval, but the Swans almost immediately conceded a second to the United States international following Cullen’s equaliser.
And the visitors went on to add three further goals inside the final 15 minutes as Lewis Dobbin, Ante Crnac and Emiliano Marcondes got on the scoresheet.
It extended Swansea’s run without a win on their travels, and Williams says everyone has a responsibility to handle difficult moments in games better.
“We were competitive in the first half, but absolutely terrible in the second half,” said the Swans boss.
“Somehow we have gone from being on level terms to a complete capitulation. Tactically we were fine and we are in the game, no problem.
“I cannot believe that after an hour Norwich became a brilliant team, and we became such a poor one.
“That can only be down to the mindset of the players because there is no way we can be that drastically different.
“That has got to change quickly, we are in terrible form and we have to change that immediately.”
