Marc Guehi a doubt for Luton clash

Marc Guehi is “touch and go” for Swansea City’s Championship clash with Luton Town, with Ryan Bennett in contention to return to the starting line-up.

Guehi had to come off at half-time in the midweek draw with Blackburn Rovers with a groin complaint.

And, while head coach Steve Cooper says the issue will not keep the defender out for the long term, he is not certain to be available to face the Hatters.

Bennett, who recently returned from a calf problem, and Joel Latibeaudiere will be among Cooper’s options should Guehi miss out.

“Marc is touch and go for the game on the weekend, he is definitely not out of the game but he had to come off the other night,” said Cooper.

“He has played a lot of games, but maybe just playing 45 minutes the other night might help his legs.

Ryan Bennett

“We will make a late call on that one, but in the short term he is fine. Whether he plays at the weekend, I’m not too sure.

“Ryan (Bennett) has had enough training in his legs to start games and is a good option with his experience and know-how if needed.

“Wayne Routledge is back training and came on the other night, he made his 250th league appearance which is a milestone he should be proud of, and we are proud of him meeting that mark.

“Paul Arriola is out with his thigh injury. We have a few niggles, but we will commit to the boys who will play and look to get a result.”
