Swansea City captain Matt Grimes has thanked the “unbelievable” Jack Army for their support on the road throughout the 2023-24 season.

The skipper praised the efforts of the 527 supporters who made the more-than-600-mile round trip to back the Swans against the Canaries, and also took time to thank all the fans who had supported the away from home throughout the season.

Over the course of this season, the travelling Jacks have racked up a distance of 9,804 miles to cheer on the Swans; the third-highest mileage covered by any group of supporters in the Championship.

And midfielder Grimes – who brought up his 300th appearance in Swans colours on Saturday – is hopeful of a big crowd for the final home game against Millwall, with the skipper determined to finish the season on a high with a good performance.

“They’re unbelievable,” he said of the supporters.

“It’s got to be one of the highest amount of miles travelled by any team in the EFL. They’re incredible, and I honestly can’t thank them enough.

“We know how much effort goes into it and how well they’ve supported us away from home. It’s unbelievable.

“We want to make a statement to the fans next week about what they can expect from us every game next year. That has to be the plan, and we’ll look to do that.

“I hope we’ve done enough in the last couple of games to get supporters excited and see what we’re trying to build.

“We want to show that again next week, finish really strong and take it into next year.”
