Head coach Michael Duff feels there are positive signs in Swansea City’s development as a team, but says it is important they strike the right balance in their play.

The Swans have enjoyed a good run over the last couple of months, picking up 17 points from 10 games, with two of their three defeats in that time coming against the Championship’s current top two; Leicester and Ipswich.

There have been four clean sheets during that sequence, with Duff also keen to see his side make strides with their play in possession.

There were signs of that in the defeat at Ipswich, where the Swans controlled the ball for long spells but were let down by defensive lapses that had been uncharacteristic of their recent form.

And Duff believes marrying up the foundation of a solid defence and bravery in possession is a step his side need to take as they move forward.

"From the end of the last international break to this one I think we have improved again," he said.

"We have lost games but I think you can see the work that has been going on.

"We have got some tough games coming up, but there has been a lot to take from some of the performances.

"For us, it's about getting the balance and we've always said it is something that is going to take work and it is going to take time.

"We have shown good signs without the ball, and we dominated the ball against Ipswich so that balance is in there, it's about putting it all together."
