Mike van der Hoorn has called on Swansea City to bounce back from Saturday’s defeat to Norwich City when West Brom visit the Liberty in midweek.

Graham Potter’s side suffered their heaviest loss of the season as they were beaten 4-1 by the Championship leaders at the Liberty.

They made a solid start to the contest but the momentum switched after van der Hoorn put through his own net in the 16th minute.

The Swans are back in action on Wednesday, when they welcome the Baggies to SA1, and the defender has urged his team-mates to respond.

“It was very disappointing,” he said. “We failed our test of competing with the top side and need to work on that.

“I think we started very well. We were very good in the first 20 minutes. They had one break when the ball went in and, after that, we lost our momentum. We let them come into the game and they were very clinical.

“We created a lot of chances but we needed to be more lively in the box.

“We need to learn from this quickly and keep our heads up because the games are coming around fast in this period. We’ll go again on Wednesday.”
