Milo Robinson has fulfilled the goal he set himself of earning a professional contract at Swansea City but the midfielder has no intention of resting on his laurels.

Robinson has signed terms until June 2028 after coming to the end of his scholarship.

The 18-year-old returned to Wales - having spent much of his youth in Australia, Canada and the United States to join Swansea City in the summer of 2024, which was when he challenged himself to join the professional ranks.

Born in Brecon, Milo is the son of former Wales international and Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder, Carl Robinson, and he is eager to make his own mark after putting pen to paper on a milestone contract for all aspiring youngsters.

"It's a proud moment for me and my family, I'm buzzing to have signed my first professional contract here," said Robinson.

"This is something I've been working towards since I joined a few years ago, and I'm glad that hard work has paid off and I've earned two more years here.

"I've had a crazy career before coming to Swansea, I've lived all over the world in different countries.

"It's also meant I've had a lot of different experiences everywhere I have been and that's definitely shaped me to who I am today.

"I was in Australia for three years, then also had time in America and Canada. I was with DC United and Toronto and then Western Sydney Wanderers.

"I've always wanted to come back to the UK to play football, that was the aim and also to get in and around the Wales squad."

Following a successful trial period during pre-season in 2024, Robinson signed on to a scholarship in south Wales, fulfilling his goal of returning to playing football in the UK.

He's also combined his club commitments with international football, becoming a regular part of the Wales' youth set-up at under-18 and under-19 level.

"I knew one of the old coaches here at Swansea and he got me in on a week trial, and they just said they'd love to bring me in," he said.

"Over the last two years, my time here has been very positive playing both under-18s and under-21s' football throughout my scholarship, I've enjoyed every part of it.

"There's been lots of stadium games, which have been great experiences, especially playing in front of fans.

"Amongst that, I've also been playing for Wales. I love playing with the Welsh shirt on, it's amazing."

With an extra two years secured for Robinson, he has his sights set on gaining valuable experience alongside Vitor Matos' squad, with hopes of following the pathway that has seen several academy graduates break into the first team in recent seasons.

"Now I know I have two years as a pro, I was just want to be able to show what I can do, work hard and get some good performances under my belt," added Robinson.

"On top of that, I want to get more experience in and around the first team environment. I know the gaffer is great at giving the younger players a chance and I'd love to be up there."
