O'Leary happy with season finale

Kristian O'Leary felt his side learned more valuable lessons as Swans Under-21s completed their season with a home draw against Barnet.

O'Leary's youngsters came from behind to claim a share of the spoils against the Bees at Llanelli's Stebonheath Park as they signed off their Development League Two South campaign.

Jamal Lowe had given the visitors a surprise lead but Kenji Gorre equalised with just over 20 minutes left after neat link-up play with Rory Donnelly.

And U21s boss O'Leary felt it was another worthy exercise for his side packed full of young prospects which will serve them well going into next season.

"Barnet, like a lot of the London teams, are quite big and physical. They went for it from the first whistle, and that is good for us to deal with," said O'Leary.

"I was slightly disappointed with the first half but we improved in the second half - we moved the ball from side to side with pace and purpose, which was good because we started to create things out wide.

"These kids have learned a lot, and we saw that again today.

"They will learn from their mistakes, and that's what this level is about.

"I was very pleased with the goal. It was a nice passage of play and Kenji took his goal well.

"Overall we should have come away with a win, but the main thing is developing this very young bunch of players and we are making progress as a group."
