Premier League – Tuesday, January 2, 2018

The Swans' most recent meeting with Spurs came only a couple of months ago in the Premier League.

It was Carlos Carvalhal's first home game as Swans boss, and to date it is his only defeat at the Liberty.

Spurs won 2-0, but the Swans competed well and felt hard done by come the final whistle.

Fernando Llorente scored the opening goal of the night against his former club after the officials failed to notice that he was offside, while Spurs defender Davinson Sanchez was fortunate to avoid a red card just before the hour mark.

Dele Alli sealed the visitors' victory in the 89th minute.

Premier League – Saturday, December 31, 2011

The Swans have not had much luck against Tottenham in recent Premier League encounters, with only two points against the London side in seven home games.
One of those points came under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers during Swansea’s first season back in the top-flight.
Rafael van der Vaart’s first-half opener gave Spurs the lead before Scott Sinclair pounced on a mistake by Brad Friedel to snatch a late equaliser.
The 1-1 draw halted Tottenham’s charge for top spot as Swansea earned a much-needed point.

League Cup – Wednesday, September 25, 1991

Frank Burrows’s side faced Tottenham in the second round of the League Cup in front of 11,400 at Vetch Field in 1991.
Rodger Freestone’s permanent move to South Wales was registered just in time for him to play, and the goalkeeper made fine saves to deny Vinny Samways and John Hendry.
Jimmy Gilligan’s unstoppable second-half volley ensured the Swans took a slender advantage into the second leg at White Hart Lane the following month.
But Gary Lineker was among the scorers as Spurs won the second leg 5-1.

Division One – Saturday, September 22, 1981

Swansea City kicked off their impressive debut season in the First Division with victories over Leeds, Brighton and Notts County.
The Swans continued their promising early-season form with an impressive win over FA Cup holders Tottenham at the Vetch in late September.
Robbie James gave John Toshack's team the lead before England’s Glenn Hoddle equalised for Spurs.
But Alan Curtis' superb turn and long-range strike ensured the Swans maintained their 100 per cent home top-flight record.
