Swansea City Ladies celebrate

Swansea City Ladies will look to continue their perfect start to the Genero Adran Premier season when they travel to face Cardiff City Women this afternoon (2pm kick off).

The Swans have started their season with two wins from two, and the defending champions are yet to concede a league goal.

After opening the campaign with a 2-0 win over Cardiff Met, Stacey John-Davis scored her second goal of the season as she netted the winner for the Swans in their 1-0 win over Barry Town United Ladies last time out.

Cardiff come into the game having also had a perfect start to the season, and they sit top of the table on goal difference.

In their last outing, the Bluebirds put five past Abergavenny on the road, with Danielle Green netting twice, while Danielle Broadhurst, Rhianne Oakley and Siobhan Walsh also got on the scoresheet.

Swansea City Ladies head coach Ceri Phillips: “We’re very excited, it’s one of the first fixtures you look for when they are drawn out, it’s nice and early this season and we can’t wait now.

“Both teams have had two wins and two clean sheets so hopefully this game can set the tone early, we’ve had a really good week of training all focused for the game and the girls are right up for it.

“A team of their quality will want to try and get on the front foot, it’s up to use to make sure that we try and control the game where we can and be the team that’s in charge.

“We want to take the game to them, just as we would any team in the league, and try to get a positive result and claim the maximum points."

Previous meeting

The two sides last met back in March with Swansea City Ladies producing an emphatic 4-1 victory in the South Wales derby.

Stacey John-Davis bagged a brace, while there were also goals for Karmyn Carter and Chloe Chivers.
