Swansea City Under-21s are back in Professional Development League action on Tuesday afternoon as they take on Charlton Athletic at Sparrows Lane (1pm).

The Swans turn their attention back to the league after their defeats in the Nathaniel MG Cup final and against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League Cup.

Last time out in the PDL, the Swans completed a fine comeback against Colchester United with goals from Ben Lloyd and Maliq Cadogan at Maldon and Tiptree claiming a 2-1 win, and they are unbeaten in their last three league outings.

The Addicks have won two out of their last four league fixtures, courtesy of a 6-1 victory over Millwall and a 5-0 win over Ipswich Town.

The reverse fixture in October saw the Swans produce a five-star performance against the London outfit. All the goals came in the first half as the home side raced to a 5-0 lead at Landore.

Coach Anthony Wright: "It's another busy week with two away trips, but we're back in league action.

"We're in a strong position in the table, a win could see us go top depending on Bournemouth's result. Charlton were a tough side on their home turf last year, and we look forward to going up there."

Swansea City Under-21s kicked off 2023 with a draw away to Charlton Athletic after a fine Tarrelle Whittaker strike secured a point in their last Professional Development League trip to face the Addicks.

The hosts took the lead shortly before the interval when Dylan Gavin fired home from close range.

But in-form forward Whittaker was on target for the visitors with a fine free-kick as it ended all-square at Princes Park.
