Swansea City Under-18s will look to continue their strong run of form when they travel to QPR in the Professional Development League on Saturday.

The Swans have won four of their last five matches, having suffered just one defeat in 2022 to runaway league leaders Charlton Athletic.

A win over QPR would extend the winning run of the young Swans to three games, following wins over Millwall and second-placed Ipswich Town.

In their previous outing, goals from in-form forwards Corey Hurford and Iwan Morgan proved to be the difference against the Lions.

The strong run of form has seen the Swans climb to sixth in the Professional Development League, but a win over QPR could take them as high as third depending on other results.

QPR have struggled so far this season, and sit bottom of the south group.

The Rs have had just two wins this season in the league, and suffered a 7-2 defeat to Colchester United last time out.

Swansea City Under-18s Darren Davies

Swansea City Under-18s coach Darren Davies: “We’ve reviewed Saturday’s game and there were definitely learning moments in that game.

“It’s another away game, that’s three on the bounce for us now but it should be another good weekend for us.”

Previous meeting

The two sides last met in January this year, with the Swans playing out a dominant 5-0 victory over the Rs.

Kyrell Wilson scored twice for the Swans before goals from Geoff Bony, Iwan Morgan and debutant Corey Hurford rounded off a well-deserved first victory in charge for Darren Davies.

The win saw the Swans leapfrog the Rs in the Professional Development League table and proved the start of the excellent run Davies’ side are currently on.
