PREVIEW: Swans U19s v Haverfordwest U19s

Swansea City Under-19s take a break from league action this Sunday as they face Haverfordwest in the third round of the FAW Youth Cup at Landore (11am).

The youngsters will be aiming to continue their run in the tournament after a 14-0 win over Bow Street in the second round, and coach Cameron Toshack insists he wants his side to continue their progress.

"We've had better performances in the last few weeks, only losing once in our last seven league and cup games," he said.

"That said, we can't let our performance levels drop now. We speak about consistency a lot and the element that plays in the individuals development our units in both attack and defence have improved but we still have areas of the game we need to work on, particularly when it comes to passing the ball in midfield."

Under-18s defender Joe Rodon came off the bench to feature during the Under-21s' 4-1 win over Brentford on Monday, and Toshack said he's pleased to see that some of the players he works with are stepping up a level.

"The sooner Gary (Richards) and I provide options for the Under-21s coaches the better the competition is, which in turn raises the bar throughout," he said.

"I'm very pleased for Joe, he's been working hard in training every day and shows a great desire to improve.

"It was pleasing to see him take part as he came off the bench on Monday to make a positive impact."
