Preview | Swansea City Ladies vs The New Saints Women
Swansea City Ladies return to Genero Adran Premier action this weekend as they welcome The New Saints Women to Llandarcy (2pm kick-off).
Following a weekend without a fixture, the Swans will be in league action for the first time since a 4-0 drubbing of Cardiff Met Women away from home. A Stacey John-Davis hat-trick and a goal from Chloe Chivers securing the points on that day.
The New Saints come into the game off the back of a 5-1 defeat at home to league leaders Cardiff City Women after starting life in Phase Two with a 2-0 win over Cardiff Met.
Swansea City Ladies head coach, Ceri Phillips: “We want to carry on from what was a really positive performance last time out against Cardiff Met.
“We’ve had some good training sessions in between the games, it was a time to refresh but also to reiterate the message that we want to finish the season as strong as we can.
“We know that on their day TNS are a really tough side and can make life hard for us, they’ve got plenty to play for and still a point to prove.”
Last time out
In the last meeting between the two sides, Swansea City Ladies closed out Phase One of the Genero Adran Premier with a 5-2 win over TNS.
Five different scorers provided the Swansea goals, with Katy Hosford, Ellie Lake and Nieve Jenkins all finding the net in the first half.
An Emily Ridge double for the visitors wasn’t enough to stop the Swans, with Stacey John-Davis and Monet Legall also netting for the Swans.
