Swansea City U23s

Swansea City under-23s welcome Exeter City under-23s to Landore for their latest Premier League Cup fixture on Friday (2pm).

The Swans go into their fourth Group F game looking for their first win, having picked up a point against the Grecians in the reverse fixture earlier this season.

Swansea are currently unbeaten in their previous two outings, having been held to a goalless draw against Watford in their opening game of 2022 earlier this week.

Exeter sit in a similar position to the Swans in the group, with their only point coming against the Swans back in August as Premier League 2 sides Wolves and West Ham set the pace.

Kris O'Leary

Swansea City Under-23s coach Kris O’Leary: “I’ve said to the players that the busy schedule is great for them, before the Watford game we had a run of nine games within 35 days.

“When I’ve spoke to the players about it, I’ve told them that this is as close as they will get to senior football with how many games they will be playing, and it will only help them.

“Some players will be playing a lot of games, some players less so, but that’s just the nature of football, but there is plenty of game time.

“The players just have to train right, we have a good support team around them, they just need to take this opportunity and make the most of it.”

Previous meeting

The two sides last met in Swansea’s opening game of the season, with the visitors being held to a point at St James Park.

Dylan Morgan scored his first goal for the club, his superb curling effort giving the Swans the lead.

But the Grecians replied quickly, with Callum Rowe firing a low equaliser from the edge of the box.

Both sides had chances to snatch a winner, but it ended all-square.
