Swansea City will look to build on a fine away performance at Hull City when they return to the Swansea.com Stadium to host Leeds United tonight (7.45pm).

The Swans were 1-0 winners at the MKM Stadium at the weekend, Liam Cullen's early goal securing the three points against the promotion hopefuls.

They now face a Leeds side who are firmly in the hunt for automatic promotion, and who have lost just three of their last 18 games in all competitions.

Team news

Kyle Naughton

The Swans are waiting on the fitness of Kyle Naughton after the defender suffered cramp during the latter stages of the win against Hull City.

There are no other new injury concerns for the hosts. However, they will be without Harry Darling, Josh Key, Azeem Abdulai, Liam Walsh, Harrison Ashby, Sam Parker and Jamal Lowe.

Leeds, meanwhile, have former Swan Daniel James available again after a groin injury, but Jamie Shackleton, Pascal Struijk and Sam Byram are all absent.

Luke Williams Morecambe

Luke Williams: “We know we have some really tough games coming up against top opposition, so we have to try and learn as much as we possibly can from the weekend game and understand why we have been successful.

"We now have to try and make that the standard we don’t drop from.

“It was a fantastic result and performance at the weekend, the players deserved it and delivered on what we had worked on in the week.

“I had felt a strong, positive energy in the changing room going in to the game. We played with belief and now, with a win and a clean sheet, we have a chance to build on that belief.

“We have to try to harness that, and go and compete against tough opposition.

“We have to find our own way, and repetition of what we are working on is important.

Daniel Farke: "For Swansea it was a case of when they would win a game, and not if.

"I think they are a very good side with many experienced and technical players at this level.

"I think they are one of the better possession sides in this league. It's a big task. Their situation has eased up a bit and right now against Leeds United they have nothing to lose.

"We try to be balanced. Obviously we know we're on a good run, so we travel and play with confidence, but we also speak about the areas we can improve because there's never a perfect game of football.

"There are a few things we are still working on, of course."

Remember the last time?

Leeds (H) Guehi 2

Swansea City suffered late heartbreak as Pablo Hernandez struck a last-gasp winner for Leeds United on their last visit to SA1, denying the hosts a point that would have moved them into the play-off places.

Results elsewhere meant the Swans knew a positive result on home turf would move them into the top six and put their play-off fate firmly in their own hands with three games to go in a Covid-affected 2019-20 campaign.

And they were on course to pick up a valuable point - with a display that was battling, but certainly not lacking in intensity or quality - until Hernandez's 89th minute shot beat Freddie Woodman and found the back of the net off the inside of the post.

The Swans had chances of their own, Conor Gallagher and Andre Ayew going closest, while Woodman made a superb second-half save from Patrick Bamford when a Leeds goal looked all but a certainty.

It had looked as though Swansea were about to climb into the top six and put their promotion fate in their own hands, but it was not to be.
