Swans Women celebration vs Cardiff Met

Swansea City Women return to Llandarcy Academy of Sport as they welcome The New Saints Women in the Genero Adran Premier this afternoon (2pm kick off).

The Swans will be looking to continue their excellent form, having won 12 of their last 13 games.

The New Saints will be looking for their first Genero Adran Premier win of 2024, having suffered three consecutive league defeats since action resumed in January.

The visitors come into the game off the back of a dramatic midweek loss to Wrexham, where they initially raced to a 2-0 lead inside 12 minutes, only for Wrexham to hit back with three goals of their own and to claim all three points.

TNS sit fourth in the Genero Adran Premier, with the Swans in second.

PRE-MATCH VIEWS

Chris Church v Pontypridd

Swansea City Women’s interim coach Chris Church: “We’ve had a good start to 2024, three positive results and three positive performances. It’s all about carrying that on now.

“It’s similar to the last game, you cannot take anything for granted in this league, we just need to prepare ourselves in the right way.

“TNS are fighting for top four like we are, but we we will be focusing on ourselves.

“We’ve spoke about making Llandarcy a fortress, we want it to be a difficult place to come to, we’ve had a great start to the year and hopefully that will continue.”

PREVIOUS MEETING

we always believed that we could score a last-minute goal.

The New Saints 1 Swansea City 2

The two sides last met in October, with Robyn Pinder’s 97th-minute winner securing three points for the Swans.

After a goalless first half, Stacey John-Davis broke the deadlock as she tapped home her first goal of the season from close range.

However, the Swans looked like they would have to settle for a point when a strike from distance by Ella Hartley levelled matters with just six minutes to go.

But the Swans had other ideas, with substitute Pinder firing home deep into added time to extend Swansea’s winning run to three games in all competitions.
