Swansea City Ladies extended their excellent run of form with victory over Port Talbot at Victoria Road.

The Genero Adran Premier leaders started strongly after Chloe Chivers opened the scoring within the opening 15 minutes.

Just short of the hour mark Chivers completed her brace to secure all three points for Chris Church’s side.

The result continues the Swans perfect record so far this term, and they remain unbeaten in league action in more than three years.

The Swans led in the early stages as Katy Hosford’s cross took a deflection onto the crossbar, which Chivers was on hand to turn it home from point-blank range.

Soon after, Tija Richardson came close to doubling the lead as she got on the end of Hosford’s free-kick, but her effort was blocked in the six-yard box.

Port Talbot nearly responded with an equaliser as Terri Beddows diverted her header from Lauren Amor’s corner marginally over the bar.

Chivers, in the search for her second of the afternoon, was picked out by Kelly Adams’ cross but her header was claimed by Emily Roberts.

Laura Davies then threatened Port Talbot, but she was unable to keep her header down after Hosford found her in the middle of the box.

Swansea’s attacking threat grew significantly in the second half and it was converted into a second goal for Chivers, who beat Roberts at her near post with a powerful strike.

Davies was unlucky not to add to Swansea’s lead as her close-range volley was saved by Roberts after Hosford found her with a diagonal ball.

In an attempt to seal the three points Hosford slotted the ball through to Sarah Adams but she was unable to keep her shot down, whilst being pressed by a defender.

But it did not matter as the Swans marched on with another win.
