Monet Legall Swans Ladies vs TNS

Swansea City Ladies extended their unbeaten Genero Adran Premier run to 15 games with an emphatic home win over The New Saints Women.

Katy Hosford gave the Swans a very early lead before TNS forward Lucie Platt drew things level inside 10 minutes.

But the Swans turned on the style and Stacey John-Davis netted twice before half-time to take her goal tally to 15 for the season and make her the league’s top goal scorer.

Substitute Monet Legall secured the points with a second-half strike.

The Swans got off to a fast start with captain Hosford poking home after just 29 seconds.

But the Swans' lead was short lived, Platt converting a low cross just eight minutes later to level for the visitors.

John-Davis looked to restore her side's lead, bursting down the right before attempting a lob that floated just wide of the post.

TNS had the chance to go ahead when a ball over the top caused a mix up at the back. Shauna Jenkins read the situation and got back to clear off the line.

It would be John-Davis who would pull the Swans back ahead, smashing home after a great ball through from Hosford.

Just four minutes later John-Davis had a brace, with some excellent play between herself and Chloe Chivers giving her the space to fire home from 25-yards out.

But John-Davis wouldn’t be able to make it two hat-tricks in two games after an injury just after the hour mark forced her off the field.

Despite the setback the forward’s replacement Legall made an immediate impact securing a fourth for the Swans within nine minutes of coming on. She made a good run to get on the end of a ball from Gwen Horgan before firing into the bottom left corner.

The Swans continued to push for a fifth, Nia Rees firing just over the bar from the edge of the box before Chivers flashed a shot just wide of the post from a tight angle.
